Boletim SBI

The Bulletin of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology (ISSN 1808-1436, Bol. Soc. Bras. Ictiologia) is a quarterly publication of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology – SBI, to facilitate communication between ichthyologists from Brazil or working with Brazilian ichthyofauna. Its main objectives are disseminating several aspects regarding the diversity and evolution of Brazilian marine and freshwater fishes, promoting the integration of SBI members, and encouraging the active participation of these members in discussions on the conservation and usage of Brazilian fishes. Electronic versions are available since December 2002. In 2005 the Bulletin started to be published only electronically. The one hundred edition, of September 2010, brings some of the SBI and Bulletin history.

We accept original articles from all active members of SBI. Publications can be in Portuguese, Spanish or English, and will be considered for publication by our Editorial Committee after revision. The Boletim presents the following publication types: Highlights, Communications, Interview, Natural History, Techniques, Fish in Focus, Alipianas, Ichthyologist in Focus, Opinion/Letters, besides outreach sections such as New Publications and Events.
